Highlighting the emerging need for responsible trade that uplifts communities frequently left behind. In each episode, we’ll invite innovators and thought leaders to deconstruct conventional systems perpetuating economic inequality and spotlight models that are re-envisioning business. Together we’ll unearth a blueprint for an economy redesign.
I’ve been very grateful for this path Sheeza and UpEffect are opening for discovery of the global solidarity movement and its ways ancient and new. Each episode is a wonderful window on ideas, ventures and lives in a sense familiar, in that I recognize a common transformational purpose and hope in the voices I’m hearing, and at the same time unfamiliar, revealing leaders and practitioners unknown to me and initiatives from communities much outside the dominant-culture story. A happy addition to regular listening!
From fast fashion to islamic economics, this podcast highlights the extent of the issues in our society and how there really are other solutions and systems out there that don't marginalise communities. Each episode has taught me so much and given me ideas I can implement in my daily life to counteract the injustices that are all too common. Highly recommend this podcast if you want to learn the true impact of the broken systems we live in and have practical tips on how we can change them.
These episodes were very interesting to me, especially as I had only a slight acquaintance with Islamic economics. Dr. Nasser did an excellent job of contrasting the traditional teachings with today's wildly out of balance economy. I will be looking for future episodes and am learning a lot.
There couldn’t be a more pertinent time for a podcast exploring the intersection of business and social impact, and this series serves as a great dive into some of the complex intertwined issues in this area. A consummate, thoughtful host in Sheeza and pioneering guests - I’m looking forward to more episodes as they’re released.
Some of the most insightful and educational podcasts out there :) Sheeza and her guests coherently shed light on the many flaws in current economic practices. As a small business, it's refreshing to hear different views on how to set up and maintain a more sustainable system.
